On August 12-13, in the Sujainiai pond of the Raseiniai district, the Lithuanian fishing sport veterans competition with a float rod was held, which was organized by Lithuanian Sports Fishing Federation.
The competition was attended by 17 veteran fishermen from all over Lithuania, including 3 from Anykštės – Vytautas Lisauskas, Dainius Vaitkūnas and Valdas Bačkulis. The competition took place in two stages for two days, fishermen caught fish for 4 hours each day.
At the end of the competition and after summing up the results, it turned out that they were excellent fishermen.
Vytautas Lisauskas took second place in the 60-69 age group (10.813 kg). Dainius Vaitkūnas also took second place in the age group between 50-59 years (9.371 kg), and Valdas Bačkulis was fifth in this age group (4.777 kg). So, two fishermen from Anykštės brought back silver medals and cups from the sports fishing veteran competition.
The winners and prize-winners of the competition were awarded not only with cups and medals of the Lithuanian Float Fishing Sports Association, but also with UAB “Sauda” spice sets, UAB “Faidė” baits, and the champions received special prizes awarded by the Raseiniai Hunters and Fishermen’s Association.
In total, nearly 120 kg of fish were caught during the competition, roaches, roaches, breams, perch were caught quite well, and there were also bream and bream.
After weighing, as stipulated in the competition regulations, the fish caught by each angler was immediately released back into the pond.
