During the apple festival in Anykščiai on September 23. at 2 p.m. The Anykščiai L. and S. Didiulių public library kindly invites readers to the presentation of the latest 25th volume of Juoz Tumos-Vaižgant’s writings, which will take place in the Library’s event hall.
The author of the book, dr. Jurgita Žana Raškevičiūtė, Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore and historian dr. Norbertas Černiauskas, VU Faculty of History.
The event will be moderated by dr. Aistė Kučinskienė, Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore. About the book:
The 25th volume of writings contains all currently known and available epistolary of Juoz Tumas-Vaižgants, written to individual persons and institutions, except for the collection consisting of letters written to the families of nieces Bronė Mēginaitė-Klimienė and Barbora Mēginaitė-Lesauskienė. The volume includes: letters, postcards, postcards, telegrams, letters-notes sent by messengers or left at home, business cards, invitations, receipts written on remittance receipts for the recipient. Vaižgant’s letters to various individuals have been preserved unevenly: from the correspondence with Aleksandars Dambrauskas-Adams Jakštas forming a separate group of correspondence to individual letters to individual addressees or institutions.
