Special guests visited the radio station “NYKŠČIAI FM”.
The new owner of the building, Daiva Kastečkaitė (in the main photo), who came from the USA, talked about what she plans to do with this building. The guests were accompanied by the mayor’s advisor Laimas Fergiz.
“On Synagoga Street, next to a semi-renovated apartment building, the ruins that have been shamefully standing for several decades must be renovated and become an attractive multifunctional cultural center in the heart of the old town of Anykščiai. With such thoughts and vision, together with the owner of the synagogue, Daiva Kastečkaitė, who came from the USA, and the family of patrons, Aldona Sudeikienė-Shapiro and Philip S. Shapiro, we walked around this cultural heritage object that has miraculously survived to this day and has changed hands many times. I invite those who want to help and contribute to the reconstruction of the Jewish cultural building to contact the owner Daiva Kastečkaite”, L. Fergizas wrote about the meeting.
Meanwhile, the guests gave an interview to the radio, which will be broadcast on “NYKŠČIAI FM” next week.
